Decide where the backsplash ends
Cabinet edges, windows, range hoods and open wall areas can create tricky stopping points. Resolve these transitions before installation.
Coordinate color and scale
Pattern, grout tone, tile size and countertop movement should be viewed together. A restrained backsplash can work well when counters are visually active.
Account for outlets and fixtures
Outlet locations, under-cabinet lighting and wall-mounted fixtures can affect tile cuts and layout.
Bring the scope together before construction
The more a project touches cabinets, counters, appliances, flooring, lighting, plumbing or layout, the more valuable early coordination becomes. A clear scope gives everyone a better basis for discussing feasibility, sequence and priorities.
